That shoot out was nuts
France Sub on a new keeper just for the shoot out
After two rounds, each keeper had a save
Tied after four rounds
Save to the post by the Australian keeper and then the Australian keeper steps up with a chance to win and hits the post
Both France and Australia convert in the first extra round
As well in the second extra round
And the third, that's eight kickers for each side
Save by Arnold! After VAR, re-take as Arnold was off the line so France gets another chance. A chance that Arnold turns away!
So now Australia sends a never scored center back to take a potentially winning PK and the French keeper saves it. Sure why not?
France hits the post!
Australia converts to win
I've never seen so many posts nor saves in a shootout. I've never seen a save VAR'd off and the final result of the attempt still be a save
