Part of the problem is that people expect prices to return to pre-pandemic levels. That isn't going to happen.

A return to pre-pandemic inflation without triggering a recession was always the best result available to us. The fact that they pulled it off is a huge victory.
But the average person sees that they are still paying more for groceries and rent than they were in 2019 and their sentiment about the economy is negative. And they blame the current administration.
