I mean not entirely unprecedented. in the Fort McMurray fires they evacuated >80,000 people. Yellowknife is maybe a quarter that. -- nm

similar. they're both pretty much the end of the (single lane in each direction) road, but the road to Yellowknife is a lot longer. -- nm
