every country contains a % of the population that would be fine with fascism. but it's never a majority.

it's not a popular stance, but cherry picking out the things you like, ignoring the ones you don't is a popular pastime of the conservative folks i know. they are not single-minded people, even though they vote that way.
the best we can hope for is disheartening them enough to stay home, not to change their votes.
