New ceiling fan in the bedroom makes an intermittent higher pitched rubbing/ squeaking noise. I really don't want to take it down

and return it. Especially since I lost the receipt, and I'm pretty sure I stripped a screw putting it up.

I'd try using a silicone spray and see if that stops the squeaking. -- nm
