Company health, the price drops are practically meaningless.
They are mostly able to lower the prices because they redesigned the X in 2022 (and the S) to be easier to build. Front and rear castings instead of the structure being assembled from many parts, redesign of the interior to be more Spartan in design, etc.
If these new prices reflect razor thin margins, then I expect the X will be sunsetted.
It is interesting that the sport version of the Y prices out higher than t he cheapest version of the X. Which probably has the most to do with the low volume sales of the X.
I've been in all 4 models of Tesla and driven everything but the X and I much prefer the 3 and Y. The only thing the S really has over the 3 is the Model S Plaid 3 motor power train with track mode. That car is a freaking beast on the track and it's a 4 door luxury sedan.
