I imagine the increase in hospitalizations would be a localized part of the puzzle based on lack of immunization/antibodies from previous rounds. -- nm

Here we're not seeing a rise in hospitalizations. My best guess is cases are rising as the vaccine and exposure antibodies wear off. -- nm
