While you're at it, if you use chrome go to Settings->Privacy and Security->Ad Privacy and then unset each of the 3 items there

By turning these off your browser won't track your history to create ads

Google changed ad practices (in July?) so that it doesn't use tracking cookies anymore and now has it built into Chrome
