Keep in mind that what that SIM card gives you is a phone number in that other country. So, you have the opposite situation of using your US phone

If you make a call from the international SIM to a US number, it is an International Call. An International SIM can be good if it has a generous data allowance since most US numbers will have little to no international data (unless you did like Dano did).
Just don't think you can start making calls to US people on that international SIM. Be sure to see how that SIM plan covers that kind of communication for voice/text.
