I'm sincerely mystified that none of the startup football leagues have tried to seriously tweak their rules so as to differentiate their product

from the NFL. Especially the XFL, which supposedly adopted a similar operating philosophy initially, but instead we got He Hate Me and a scramble for opening possession instead of a coin toss. That was scrapped quickly after a player got hurt.
My point is that I come up with weird rule tweaks all the time. Here's one: Eliminate the kicking/return element of the game (punting and placekicking remain). Opening possession and following touchdowns, the offense starts at its own 2. Following field goals the offense starts at the spot of the kick.
Also, I'd like to see an NBA game played on a court that's about 20% larger with an 11-foot rim. Thank you for your attention.
