They probably have something equivalent to an EPIRB on the ejection seat or in their kit, but the pilot landed in a back yard. Easier

to just call 911.
An EPIRB or similar would be used if in a remote area and would likely be manually triggered to prevent the enemy from tracking the pilot on the ground.
