In response to "NYT says agreement gives writers guild most of what they wanted (i'm paywalled so didn't read it, couldn't find other link) -- (link)" by zeitgeist

Copy/pasting on my phone, but a couple of points from the article:

1 - AMPTP was more reserved in their announcement that a deal had been reached than the WGA was. Looks like the AMPTP capitulated on all fronts, although that’s not to say the studios didn’t benefit from a strike at all as I personally have opinions on this matter.

2 - It seems that AI - and specifically, using scripts to train AI - was the last sticking point and they spent the weekend refining language on this front.

Lastly, there’s some on the writers’ side that seem to be still advocating for holding out until the actors get a deal, too. I believe that’s against collective bargaining agreements and could probably be cause for dismissal so while I appreciate the principle of it, I’m afraid it’s not going to have a lot of momentum.
