I haven't watched Survivor in years but am giving this season a try. (spoiler thoughts from season premiere)

I got Katurah as my Survivor pick from Beaker. Can't tell much from one episode, but it seems like she is at least a possibility as a winner. She was savvy enough to lie about her profession plus subtly brought up that Jake is an attorney when she was told that would be a possible reason to vote him out. Initially at least she seems like a good strategical player.
The Lulu tribe is a mess. I was on Emily's side when she expressed disbelief that the rest of her tribe were convinced that the pyramids were giant batteries built by aliens.
Brandon is useless, and Hannah was a mess. I missed the first few minutes so maybe this was brought up, but did Hannah decide that day one on Survivor was the best day to also be day one of quitting smoking? Like mandy said, she essentially quit the show to have a cigarette.
Emily's strategy when she realized that she was the odd person out puzzled me. Why did she target the strongest players? It seems like the proper play in that scenario is to go to the stronger players and say I get that you want to vote me out, but right now I am a better option to keep if you want to have a chance to win challenges as a tribe, so it's best to keep me for now.
