I have a problem with this tactic/approach, have had this problem for a while. Weather extremes (like floods, record high temps) have ALWAYS happened.

Pointing to an *instance* of extreme weather and saying "look! climate change!" is both unprovable and, frankly, junk science.

Climate change is real. It is having real effects. But it's the trends that prove that: The increase in overall temperature, the more frequent weather extremes. But every time someone points to one anecdotal event as proof of climate change, I feel like we are losing the debate to the climate change deniers.

This isn't at anyone here, or even anyone in particular, it's just something that's been eating away at me for a while.
