If you didn't start ranking college football until October 1st, this year's rankings would be crazy

I'm not sure there's any really strong SEC teams unlike last year with 3 legitimate top 6 teams.
Florida gets housed by Utah's 2nd/3rd string QB's...
then Gators embarrass Tennessee before
Florida gets destroyed by Kentucky.
So, you can buy Kentucky is really good...but reality is there's 3 mediocre teams there instead of any good ones.
Utah springboards off that 'big' win and then face plants vs a maybe good Pac-12 team the other night becuase they are still on their backup QBs.
---
Georgia doesn't look special. LSU got handled by FSU who then needed a miracle vs a clearly down Clemson to escape.
---
Michigan played 3 high school teams and Nebraska .... insert jokes. Ohio State needed all the miracles vs Notre Dame.
---
Maybe Texas would be #1, but let's be honest...no one buys that. It's Texas.
