That’s more a question about the CD player than the audio books.

Many CD players can play CD-Rs full of MP3s (whether audio or music), but many cannot. Generically, an audio CD will play in a CD player like a music CD will. But if you’ve found something that’s labeled an “MP3 Audio Book”, you’ll want a CD player that’ll recognize and play MP3s.
