So has McCarthy essentially decided he's going to govern in a coalition with the Democrats? I don't see another path for him at this point.

There are enough nutjobs in his party that he's never going to be able to pass anything without the Democrats. Well, definitely not anything that would pass the Senate at least.
He's going to need the Democrats to keep his speakership and he will of course be primaried now. Did McCarthy and any remaining reasonable Republicans just get together with Democrats and decide it's better to just work together where they can and exclude the extreme MAGA?
McCarthy can still throw some bones, like the impeachment though I think he knew that the MAGA representatives would bungle that as well because there isn't any actual evidence. He can also allow some MAGA bills to come up for vote. I doubt their more extreme ideas would even pass the House, and they are certainly not passing the Senate.
I guess the next big tell will be if a stand alone Ukraine funding bill makes it to a House vote.
