I have a "flex" room in the house which is basically a dining room but they don't want to call it that apparently. It's the first room you see

when you walk in the front door. There is a pendant light near door in what would be an entryway if there was a divider. There is no overhead lighting in the "flex" room and it bothers me. We will likely use the room for a larger dining table for holiday times so I have to figure out how to light the room enough to enjoy a meal.

Maybe I need to borrow some tools and make some crown molding coving lighting around the room. I dislike the idea of having lamps all around the room but that's another idea. I also toyed with the idea of string lighting around the room but that seems more an outdoor thing but I think it could work.

Just thinking out loud really.
