ST is smart and newsy. I have a couple of questions about news regarding Lebanon.

Two different things, though they fall into the same universe of news and what is going on with Israel/Palestine:
1. I believe that I read, within the past few days, that a member of a Reuters news crew in Lebanon, reporting perhaps near the Israeli border, was killed. What happened here? Why? How? That's nowhere near the Gaza border?
2. Due to the ongoing events in the region, several airlines have temporarily suspended service to Beirut. Again, I'm confused, because Beirut is not near the border with Israel and definitely not near Gaza?
I do realize that tensions in the Middle East overall have risen and that Israel/Palestine events do not happen in a vacuum. I'm not up to speed, it seems, on how this specifically is impacting/involving Lebanon.
I welcome any insight. Thanks.
