Today in Assumptions: My MIL is on our cell phone plan, and she had one of the cheapest Samsungs that she broke. We got her a new Galaxy A14

and we thought, since she can't see very well, we'd get her a charging pad as well so she doesn't have to try and plug the usbc in.

Went to put the phone on the charging pad and nothing.

Apparently, "The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G does not have the ability to charge wirelessly."

I assumed pretty much every cell phone had that nowadays, but apparently not.

Responses:

The Samsung A-series phones have plastic backs so they can't do Qi charging. Need a glass/metal back for that. -- nm - Mop🧹 Oct 18, 14:41
