Case in point yesterday. Hughes comes in to pitch the 8th with a 6-2 lead. He goes strong.

Bruney comes in to the 9th with the same 6-2 lead. Strikes out 2 and then gives up 2 one run HRs. Score is 6-4. Big Mo comes in and gets last out and the save. Hughes gets the hold. Why exactly is that? I've seen guys give up runs and not leads before and get credited with holds. Why is Bruney overlooked for the stat and Hughes isn't? I don't understand Holds.
