I had to write two emails to my city council member this morning and if neither issue gets addressed in a timely manner I'll be looking for -- (edited)

someone else to vote for next time.
There are cars from construction workers along with these wide plastic barriers completely blocking a bus stop making it unusable for over a month now.
Also, a bike lane in my neighborhood that runs along a major avenue and through to Astoria has had part of it blocked off and is now causing a dangerous situation. The bike lane when it was built was diverted through a park because of stupidity and corruption in the department of transportation. Instead of the lane staying on the street and going straight ahead they decided to make it detour through a park. They wanted to save 35 parking spaces. The issue is that cars and mopeds are going into the park using the bike lane. So to stop the cars they've completely blocked the bike lane entrance to the park. They didn't install a bollard which would stop the cars. Nope. They just closed it altogether and have now forced cyclists to ride without any protection with traffic on a rather busy avenue. It's insane that they just cut the bike lane off like that.
If neither of these issues are addressed in the very near future I'll look for someone to replace my council member.
