I think my favorite part of Sandford's writing is the little things about the good guys and the bad. They all have lives outside of the crime

Bad guys getting ready to do bad stuff "I'm not sure if Barry can make it, he'll need to find a babysitter as it is his wife's night out with the girls". Little thing like that are constantly in his books whereas some writers the bad and the good are waiting by the phone with their guns to go crimin'.
