I’m just back from the movie the Killer, starring Michael Fassbender. I’ll give it a C. Spoils

If the aim of the film was for the viewer to feel empathy for the Killer, then it definitely failed.
As a supposed top notch assassin, his first attempt to kill a target resulted in him shooting someone else by mistake. It kind of called into question his competence. And his mantra is “always anticipate”. How he couldn’t anticipate that a woman dancing in front of his target might impede his shot, left me questioning his anticipation skills.
Then, because of that botched assassination attempt, someone else is out to kill him for reasons that are unexplained and he spends the rest of the film killing the people who are trying to kill him. They also succeeded in killing my desire to spend a Friday night at the cinema for the foreseeable future. There was a cool hand to hand combat scene. But again, I found it difficult to care who won. The popcorn was nice though. With not too many unexploded kernels to break my teeth.
