It's 106 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses ... hit it.
"Fix the cigarette lighter" which is not much of a quote but a great moment from the movie because Jake is downtalking the used police cruiser Elwood has obtained, understandably given he has just been released from Joliet prison. At the beginning of the scene he lights a cigarette with the car's push-in lighter and then throws the push-in part out the window. After Elwood enlightens Jake to the benefits of the car (it's got cop tires, cop brakes, etc.) Jake utters the line, but Aha! - Jake is the one responsible for the condition of the cigarette lighter in the first place!
