The current record for the biggest dropoff in boxoffice from a film to its sequel is $737 million.

That's the dropoff between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

The Marvels at around $250 million global is going to beat that record by over $125 million. For reference, Captain Marvel made $1.13 billion dollars.

My reaction to the initial trailers was that Marvels was Miss Marvel's movie with Captain Marvel thrown in, rather than a Captain Marvel sequel. - Max Nov 16, 10:47
