Thanks. I get it. I don't condone the treatment of the Palestinians in Gaza (or especially the West Bank), particularly over the last decade or so.

I just note that the Palestinians people are victims here from both sides, but the Israelis have been victims as well. This is an incredible tragedy. It's just stunning to me how many people are only seeing one side of it. It's ok to criticize Israel, but if you can't offer a solution that protects Israel as well, that should tell you something (I mean the royal "you" not you personally). It's just incredibly difficult. When people talk about Israel creating an apartheid state, I get it. But here's the difference, if you had Palestinians with a free right to return to Israel, vote, have full rights, etc., Israel as a Jewish state would cease to exist. They would be overwhelmed and if history tells us anything it's that the Jews would wind up decimated and expelled from the land yet again. So is it ok to have a "Jewish" state? A "theocracy" of sorts (even though it's a democracy)? I think the answer to that is to really consider being Jewish a race not a religious affiliation. My daughter is an atheist (I'm at least agnostic), but in the eyes of the world we are Jewish anyway. It isn't about our religion. It's about our culture and existence as an "other". So again, all of this is just to recognize how awful it is all around. I truly feel for the Palestinian people and what they're going through. It's awful. I just don't have answers that solve it equitably.
