The top five ranks with the most roaches consist of Houston (No. 1), San Antonio (No. 2), Tampa (No. 3), Phoenix (No. 4) and Las Vegas (No. 5).

Metro cities with fewer cockroaches were Seattle (No. 25), Rochester (No. 24), San Francisco (No. 23), Detroit (No. 22) and Boston (No. 21).

The Pest Gnome used data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S., Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for the rankings. According to the study, cold temperatures such as 45 degrees Fahrenheit and lower kill off roaches.
