Is 60hz on a monitor really all that big of a deal?

Have a deal on a monitor with built in USB-C and KVM, which would make my life much easier working from home. Has an IPS panel but is 60hz and people are like "ew, I'd never". Is this just nerds being nerds?

Use 99% for WFH, 1% for old games.
