That was the point of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes: Residuals for streaming content. The joke was that during the strike, Suits was a HUGE ratings earner for streamers, and yet none of the cast or crew got anything for it.
FURTHERMORE, the new contracts (and this is probably the same, historically) only pertains to NEWLY PRODUCED content. Can you image Mel Blanc getting more than a couple of wooden nickels back in 1945 for voicing Bugs Bunny and then never getting another penny? That’s exactly the case.
