LIR/Jax my friend John and I travelled there in 2015 - did a Globus tour that took us to both North & South isles plus AUS & FIJI! Overshare inside.

I agree with much of Mafic’s info..
The glow worm cave was really cool (and touristy) … I did not see Milford Sound, but DID go to Doubtful Sound and it was incredibly beautiful. When they killed the boat engine and asked everybody to be silent - I wished I could stay there. It may have been my favorite part of the trip. One spot our bus stopped on the way there had an awesome yarn shop where I bought some for my sister in law. Getting there involved two bus rides with on boat ride inbetween. It is incredibly remote but our tour guide felt it was the better of the choices and well worth the time and trip to be there. I loved it. I purchased photos for myself and John - got them done professionally - mine is just above my monitor on my wall at work - I get lost looking at it all the time - the air is so pure there.
In Queenstown the sunsets were beautiful - we were there in November. We took a chair lift to the top of this hill where there was a huge buffet restaurant with great food - but of course it may not have survived Covid.
I can’t remember where it was, but we also did this fun tour in a super old “Duck Boat” (I think that is what they called it?). Another “touristy” thing - it’s like a bus that turns into a boat - took us to I think two or three different lake spots - it was cool!
If I think of more I’ll add it later.
