I’m in Montreal visiting for my Dad’s birthday and I went to see my brother who just got home from the hospital 2 days ago. This is his stroke story.

He was working from home and on a Teams call when his coworkers noticed he was slurring his speech and they asked him to turn on his camera. They were immediately alarmed and were able to look up his address and call 9-1-1.

He apparently fell from his chair and although his coworkers were calling his cell phone, he couldn’t reach it on his desk to answer. But when the paramedics started banging on his door, he was able to get up, get downstairs, and open the door. He was communicative with the paramedics, who rushed him to the hospital, where he got treatment. He’s got some balance issues but is otherwise recovered. He’s going to undergo physical therapy which should address his balance issues, and he’s been ordered to take time off work (which he’ll totally, absolutely, definitely do, just as soon as he answers a few emails). I feel his most stressful factor right now is the way Mom and Dad are treating him right now. Everyone needs to fucking chill.
