I was pretty hesitant to go this route for a long time as it seemed way complicated but after having done it (especially with those connectors) it was

really very simple. The hardest part really was the end that goes into the controller as that was actual wire. What I did was
- Used the second connector link for most of the LED to LED connectors. Just cut the strip and pinch it into the connector.
- Used the wire and the first set of connectors for the controller end. Just a matter of matching up W to W, R to R, etc.
The LED strips are nice and bright and the zigbee controller works just as you'd expect in HA
