It's suitable sideviewing. I just rewatched Jack Reacher (because when it starts at 11pm for some reason I think it's a good idea)

and I'd say Cruise made his Reacher more interesting through his acting and emphasis than Ritchson does. (Plus, there's a fight in S1 that makes *no* sense given how tough they make Ritchson out to be.) S2 adds some fun with additional characters.
There are a bunch of things about the movie that are pretty bad the more I think about them. I'll double check when the movie's on again.
