The other teams just settled their litigation in regard to the PAC-12, gave up all their claims. Why?

It was clear that the traitorous 10 were going to lose to the remaining 2. The question is: why did they just walk away? Here's a couple of thoughts being tossed around the office:

- They were going to lose. Why spend time and money on lawyers in a losing cause?
- Discovery. So far none of this required discovery. If it moved to the next phase, both the departing 10 schools and the PAC-12 - a private entity governed by the remaining schools - would have to undergo discovery, and none of them want that.
