My recommendation: keep at it. It's not a talent (at least not for me), it's a skill that requires persistence and practice.

Part of 2024's project will be doubling down on treating it as such. I've always liked to play with post-processing and camera settings, but for 2024 I'll bring in a bit of actual camera control. An element of Intentionality, rather than the happenstance that I've relied on thus far.
As for the cropping, that's true. There's a hidden bit that people will likely neglect to crop out, which should help out in case I need to prove authenticity.
But, I don't actually like watermarks. None of my photos are uploaded with watermarks any more. I got tired of having to maintain two sets; the only reason THESE photos have watermarks is because SmugMug has a nice system for overlaying watermarks onto photos as they are viewed.
