I do think disqualifying someone from the ballot requires a high bar and can see the argument for requiring a conviction. Plus it’s weird in a primary

I still don’t understand the legality of the government getting involved in a primary election. I mean if a party wants to nominate a 12-year-old Moldovan citizen, I don’t see how you can stop them. Of course the general election is different and you disqualify them there for Constitutional reasons.
