I didn't think he was serious when he equated the Broncos with a team that had clinched a playoff berth.

I'm sure there have been teams that have benched starting QBs while fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the season. It's usually cheap franchises like Arizona trying to stop players from hitting incentives. I don't think that ever works out well.
