We go to shows all the time for the openers, and we've done that at some festivals (leave a few songs into the headliner).

My problem with Coachella/Bonnaroo/Lollapalooza etc is that for the travel, cost, and time, they have a large amount of bands I really am not interested in at all.
I like all kinds of music, so I'd enjoy going, but the time, money, effort, etc., for 90% of the bill to not be anything I'm there to actually *see* just isn't worth it.
