Early AVgeek consensus (which could prove to be wrong) is that it is a 'plugged exit' that blew out.

This exit door is required on airplanes that operate in the plane in a high density config. Since Alaska does not, this exit is not required so it would have been 'plugged'. On the inside, there would just be a normal sidewall and window (nobody would even know there was a plugged door there)
