Is it phantom? How is his velocity?

Before he had the surgery, I was cringing every time I was watching him pitch. You can probably find old posts of mine along those lines on Dr. Tron. He just seemed like he was going to pitch until his arm fell off. I guess it's not that surprising that he finally had one surgery too many to make 100% recovery possible.

To Smoltz's credit, if he doesn't believe he has it any more, he will fall on the sword. I just hate to see it happen. He basically chose surgery over his marriage.
