It wouldn't be phantom for mortal humans, but to listen to Smoltz talk, he doesn't think he's hurt.

After his last outing, the quote was something along the lines of: "It feels good and the effort is there but the results just aren't coming. The results do not match the effort." Which sounds to me like he doesn't feel done.
