Well, it was also made in a time when people had attention spans longer than 91 minutes and didn't depend on Megan Fox bent over a car to sell it.

Honestly, you're not the kind of person to like and appreciate the 100 most influential movies. Based on this post, you have an inability to judge them from within their own time frame and are using "today" standards instead. More and more movies today don't even tell a story, they're simply a bunch of effects strung together with a bit of dialogue.
You also need to realize that the film editor isn't working on his own, it's not like he's given 25 film cans and told "make a movie out of this". The director is involved as much in post production as he/she is in filming. So if you have a bitch, blame them.
