Coming home, at night, there was a crazy white out blizzard and we were on the 401 (which is now North America's busiest highway in the Toronto area - but wasn't so crazy back then).
Anyway, we were crawling, couldn't really see anything, hoping we were actually on the road. it was scary as hell. Took us hours and hours to get home.
We thought about pulling off if we saw a service centre but were scared we wouldn't be able to move again if we did (we were all about 17, so not exactly worldly.)
No cell phones of course.
anyway, we made it back and my house happened to be the one closest to the highway so i got dropped off first.
All the parents were of course calling each other all evening, freaked out about us, they had no idea where we were. (they last heard from us when we left for Toronto early that morning.)
my mom ran out (it was probably after midnight) and made every kid come in and call their parents immediately before she let the car leave and take everyone home.
