there's totally hope.
if I were you, and dawson will likely agree with me, I would get involved with someone really fast upon getting back to IN. it effectively takes you off the market and keeps you amused during your last semester (important: while still allowing you to feel totally adored, so you're not missing that piece) and then when you leave to travel south america, you dump the pawn, having forgotten the first dude almost completely, and sleep your way through your vacation (using condoms of course).
