finished my third book for the book challenge "nonfiction and a fiction book about the same topic (nonfiction)"

We Carry Their Bones: The Search for Justice at the Doizier School for Boys by Erin Kimmerlee. Not a happy book. If it wasn't a book club selection, I probably wouldn't have read it.

However the "nonfiction and a fiction book about the same topic (fiction)" is Colson Whitehead's Pulitzer Prize winner The Nickel Boys. I don't expect it to be any happier but perhaps the veneer of fiction will make it less horrific.
