I've been watching him for so long that when I see other people doing similar things I think I'm an expert and think "Oh, man... that's not how Baumgartner would do it. What an amateur..."
Anyway, at the end of 2023 he put out a little trailer for something different he'd be doing in 2024. He'd be going out to places, visiting manufacturers of frames and pigments and brushes, etc. All the folks that make the stuff he uses in his work. On its face, it sounded fascinating. I'm not going to knock it, but his first video wasn't compelling, and it's just not for me. I'm sure other people will enjoy it. Just glad he followed up his first video with another art restoration video.
Came to realize that this is a lot like This Old House. I like it a lot when they're working on the project, restoring the house, building new things. Then they take you out of the zen of it and bring you to a factory to show you how they make faucets. Nah, man. Get back to the house, please.
