it's her song, but she has a simple arrangement for it. He wants to be glitzy / diva'ish with it.

So she listens to him and he starts out with her vision, but then he slips into 'pop star' mode and she realizes he's never going to change and they aren't aligned in what they are...

it's critical to the plot as the breaking point iirc.
