Yeah, that'll kill radio AND kill record companies.

There's no fucking money in radio anymore. (This is personal. My wife was in radio for years.)

If this comes to pass, you'll see a HUGE contraction in the number of station owners and a HUGE reduction in the variety of formats. Kiss local hosts goodbye, say hello to robojocks or syndicated hosts.

And the current 500 song playlists? Try 100 song playlists.

Radio will go from being crap to being a shit sandwich.

Unless labels have a way to get new music exposed to vast numbers of people without radio, they've just shot themselves in the head.
