Dumbest part is I don't think he's god's gift... but he's actually trying to keep some coherent narratives which ... Vince was allergic to.

things like, the Uso's ran as Roman's right-hands for 3 years...they screwed over so many star babyfaces.
When Jey turns face, there should be hesitancy from the babyfaces to embrace him -- characters matter.
Hunter spawns off a few weeks of Owens being hesitant and actually launches a reasonable Drew McIntyre heel run based on the idea of Jey being a face.
All logical but nothing tremendously deep.
Vince would have been like, "He's my guy, everyone should love him! I want him cheered and loved by all!!!!" and that would have been it.
